Dear Ila, I got the lunchbox today, there was nothing in it. And I deserve it. Yesterday you waited in the restaurant for me, for a long time. But, before that, that same morning I’ve forgotten something in the bathroom. I ran back in to get it. And the bathroom smelled the same, exactly the same as it used to be after my grandfather used the shower. It was like my grandfather had been there. But he had not, it was me. Just me, and the smell of an old man. I don’t know when I became old. Maybe it was that morning. Maybe it was, many, many mornings ago. Sometimes the wrong train takes us to the right station.
The Lunchbox (2013), a film by Ritesh Batra.
